When the rear-wheel-drive Germans ruled the executive motoring space, this little troll from Trollhättan and its plethora of Swedish quirks were a problem. There was the legitimate racing cred and punchy powertrain – yes, but it was the personality that really endeared it and the brand to a fanbase rabid enough to survive what was to come.
