This multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub is prized for the tart black berries that form after the spring blooms. One of the smaller fruiting shrubs, Black Chokeberry tops out at 5 feet tall and wide. which makes it perfect for naturalizing smaller spaces or used as a feature in your wildlife friendly garden.
This beauty is fairly adaptable to sun exposure and soil conditions but tends to prefer some shade and more moisture. Mulching is recommended to aid in moisture retention.
Chokeberries are frequently used for jams and preserves.
